The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is gearing up for a series of road surface improvements in Bucks and Montgomery counties as part of a broader initiative to refurbish over 200 miles of highway in the Philadelphia region. Traffic alerts and travel restrictions have been issued to prepare for the upcoming work, which will include repairs, milling, and repaving of select state highways.

According to details released by PennDOT, motorists can anticipate lane closures and potential delays starting Tuesday, and continuing through Friday. Specific areas affected include Route 413 (Langhorne Newtown Road) near the Route 332 (Newtown Bypass) Interchange in Bucks County, with restrictions taking place nightly from 7:00 P.M. to 5:00 A.M. Similarly, Kutztown Road between Route 663 (Layfield Road) and the Berks County line, in Upper Hanover Township, Montgomery County, will see closures from 9:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. and then again from 6:00 P.M. to 6:00 A.M. the following morning.

Swamp Creek Road, stretching between Geryville Pike and the Bucks County line in Marlborough Township Montgomery County, is also slated for nighttime work within the same time frame. The advised restrictions and work schedules, however, remain contingent on favorable weather conditions.

PennDOT’s contractors will be focusing on improving the state highways to provide a safer and smoother riding surface for travelers. Commuters are being advised to allow extra travel time when passing through these work zones due to anticipated backups, and delays. PennDOT further suggests that updates on major roadways can be accessed via their website at www.511PA.com. This service offers round-the-clock traffic updates, weather forecasts, speed information, and the option to view over 1,000 traffic cameras.
