Authorities are urging the public to come forward with any information regarding a fatal hit-and-run incident that claimed the life of a female pedestrian. The tragic event unfolded on August 5, shortly after midnight, when an unknown vehicle struck the woman on the 2000 block of W. Hunting Park Ave. in the city's 39th District. According to the Philadelphia Police Department, the car involved was moving eastward on Hunting Park Avenue when it encountered the victim, who was walking on the highway.
The woman was severely injured and unconscious after the incident. Despite being rushed to Temple Hospital by Medic #4, she did not survive. Authorities released a video of the suspect vehicle before the incident, and the Philadelphia Police Department advises anyone who recognizes the car or the suspect not to approach but to call 911 immediately.
