Early Sunday morning, another shooting took a deadly turn during what was described as a family fight. Phoenix police arrived to find 28-year-old Darius Anthony Rain with a gunshot wound to the head. He was rushed to the hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries. According to the police, the suspect in this case turned himself in and was detained after claiming to have shot Rain in self-defense. The Maricopa County Attorney’s Office is reviewing the charges, per a report by AZ Family.
These shootings add to an already tense atmosphere in Phoenix, as community members and authorities alike grapple to understand and hopefully soon prevent further bloodshed. The investigations into both incidents are actively ongoing, with police diligently collecting evidence and homicide detectives working to piece together the circumstances that led to these violent outcomes.
