Tragedy struck a Phoenix neighborhood Wednesday afternoon when a fire engulfed a residence and its adjacent guest house near 14th Street and Dunlap Avenue, according to FOX 10 Phoenix. Phoenix firefighters responded to the scene, however the intensity of the blaze had already taken a considerable toll on the structures. "Crews arrived on scene and found a fast moving fire that started in a home, spread to an adjacent guest home and surrounding brush. Crews utilized a coordinated attack with fire units, surrounding the fire and gaining fire control," Phoenix Fire Capt. Rob McDade was quoted in the report.
The consolidated effort by the Phoenix Fire Department managed to contain the fire, which was reported by 12 News to have also caused damage to the roof of a neighboring home, and affected an outdoor structure at another residence. Fortunately, no injuries were reported from the incident, and it was noted that the residents of the primary home involved in the fire were not present at the time of the blaze.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, with officials yet to determine the initial spark that set this event in motion. The emptiness of the homes at the time of the fire has prevented what could have been a far more harrowing human toll, yet the question of displacement for the residents lingers with no immediate answers provided.

Fire officials, still on scene to ensure the complete extinguishment of hot spots, maintain a vigilance against the possibility of re-ignition, while the neighbor's efforts to provide support showcase the inherent bond in times of need. "Fire crews are on scene for a first-alarm multi-structure fire," confirmed the Phoenix Fire Department, demonstrating the scale of the emergency response required for this event.
