Two brothers from Pittsburgh with multiple active warrants, including allegations of child rape, were taken into custody. According to a statement by County Sheriff Kevin M. Kraus, the suspects, 23-year-old Conroy Salmon and 22-year-old Cameron Salmon, were found in a residence after detectives from the Allegheny County Sheriff's Office acted on recent information pointing to their location.
Detectives surrounded the house on Gearing Avenue and, upon announcing their presence, could immediately discern sounds of hurried movement that seemed to suggest an attempt to hide upstairs quickly. Based on details shared in the sheriff's official statement, these events unfolded over the time span of approximately 25 minutes before the door was breached. Both brothers were subsequently located in an upstairs room.
Conroy Salmon’s charges are notably serious, with an active warrant out of West Mifflin dating back to December of the previous year. He faces four counts of rape and other sexual assault charges involving two juvenile victims. These charges are compounded by a bench warrant for a probation violation tied to a burglary case. His brother, Cameron, is equally mired in legal trouble, possessing two bench warrants related to probation violations for firearms charges and flight to avoid apprehension. Charges from McKeesport and Pitcairn also loom over him, including fleeing a police officer by stealing a U-Haul and making terroristic threats.
The arrest operation unfolded smoothly, as the brothers were taken into custody without incident. They have since been transported to be securely held at the Allegheny County Jail.
