In a swift response to a BOLO issued by the Garrett County Sheriff's Office, Pittsburgh Police made a key arrest in connection to a harrowing crime that has sent shockwaves across Maryland. Nikolas Patrick James, a 46-year-old male, was taken into custody on charges of homicide and arson. Working in concert, the Pittsburgh Police Fugitive Apprehension Unit, Computer Crimes, and Robbery detectives located James just after 3 p.m. without incident in the 1100 block of Banksville Road, according to the Pittsburgh City Public Safety Blotter.
The suspect is accused of trying to cover up his crime by setting the victim's house on fire. James is currently in custody in Pittsburgh and is awaiting extradition to Maryland to face charges.
