Residents of Pittsburgh's Garfield neighborhood were abruptly woken up by gunfire early this morning. According to the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police blotter, just before 1 a.m., officers from Zone 5 rushed to answer two ShotSpotter alerts on the 200 block of North Graham Street. The technology reported that 14 rounds had been fired, prompting a swift response from law enforcement.
The seriousness of the incident became immediately apparent as the Mobile Crime Unit arrived to process the scene meticulously. Amid their investigation, they found spent shell casings and later ascertained that gunfire had indeed damaged one of the residences. The report however, there were no injuries reported as a result of the shooting.
The Pittsburgh Police Department's investigation into this incident is ongoing. Officials are asking the public to come forward with any information they might have that could help to rapidly bring the person or persons responsible to account.
