Early this morning, Pittsburgh Police were quick to the scene of a shooting on East Carson Street, where they found a woman with a gunshot wound to her leg. The incident took place just after 1 a.m. in the vicinity of the 1100 block, where patrol officers from Zone 3, who were already in the area, heard gunfire and responded immediately. According to the official report released by the Pittsburgh Public Safety Department, the wounded individual was able to communicate with responders and was taken to the hospital in stable condition.
Witnesses said a fight started inside a local bar and moved outside onto the street. One of the men involved fired a gun several times, causing panic on East Carson Street. The shooter ran away on foot towards South 10th Street. The police quickly caught him, and he is now facing charges.
The female victim's condition has been updated to stable after receiving prompt attention from the Pittsburgh EMS Medic 2 team, who whisked her away for medical care.
