
A young man, aged 21, succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds late last night in Larimer, a neighborhood that now stands as another bookmark in the chronicle of gun violence stretching across the nation. According to the Pittsburgh Public Safety Department, the victim was transported to a local hospital by a private vehicle just before 11 p.m. and was declared dead shortly after his arrival.
The Pittsburgh Police notified through the Shot Spotter system at 10:48 p.m., identified the area of the 100 block of Meadow Street as the crime scene where the shooting transpired. While processing evidence at the Meadow Street location, the Crime Scene Unit faced a quiet night punctuated by the sounds of gunfire that set this grim investigation in motion.
Investigators are now seeking a search warrant for the vehicle that transported the victim in a continued effort to piece together the circumstances leading to his untimely death.
