Last Monday night, the Plano Police Department Victim Services Unit, paving the way in collaboration with the Collin County Crime Victims Council, opened its doors to the local community for the Thriving Communities Resource Fair. Held at the Plano Event Center, this gathering was a beacon for individuals and families on the quest for resources ranging from health services to educational opportunities.
The free event, which ran from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm, welcomed a cross-section of the community, aiding in connecting them to various local organizations and service providers. According to the Plano Texas Police Department's Facebook page, the intent was "designed to connect individuals, families, and communities with the vital resources and support they need to thrive."
Among the crowd, parents and their children could be seen engaging with representatives from various sectors, all under one roof. The event promised a comprehensive purview of the local support landscape, whether the attendees were in pursuit of financial assistance, schooling information, or community programs designed to empower and bolster resilience within the population.
