In a recent incident, Plymouth police officers were dispatched following a distress call regarding a man allegedly threatening his family with violence. According to the Plymouth Police Department’s Facebook page, the situation was de-escalated upon police arrival, thanks to the combined efforts of law enforcement and a clinical response team, consisting of Clinician Kim Mugimu and Officer Rian Torrance.
The Plymouth Police Department details how Officer Aaron Wallace and Sergeant Donald Reddington were initially called to the scene. Upon their arrival, the officers managed to calm the situation before Clinician Mugimu obtained a section 12 for the individual, which necessitated hospitalization. “Our Officers and Clinicians never know what the day will bring…," the department stated on their social media.
In their post, the department heralded their co-response team, showcasing a photograph of Clinician Mugimu and Officer Torrance, with the caption expressing Plymouth’s philosophy: “One Town. One Team.”
