The first took place early Saturday morning at a bustling fast food establishment on Western Boulevard. When authorities arrived just before 3 a.m., they discovered a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, as reported by WRAL. The victim was promptly transported to a local hospital, where he is currently in critical condition.

On the same day, a second shooting incident was reported in the parking lot of a McDonald's also situated near the university's campus. According to ABC11, one person was shot and taken to the hospital, but their condition, and whether they are affiliated with NC State University as a student, remains unconfirmed. Eyewitnesses state that the shooter fled from the scene in a white crossover-style vehicle heading away from the university grounds.
