An incident of domestic violence in Rancho Cordova led to a significant police operation and a suspect's arrest, the local police department reports. The Rancho Cordova Police Department (RCPD) officers were called to a scene where a man allegedly threatened the mother of his child with a firearm before making an escape in a vehicle. The tense situation prompted a response from the Crime Suppression Unit (CSU), who worked in concert with patrol officers to address the incident.
Investigations carried out over an extended period allowed the CSU to identify the suspect and pinpoint his location. However, their attempt to make contact resulted in the accused fleeing on foot. During his escape, he discarded a Glock handgun but was ultimately apprehended and arrested. A statement from the Rancho Cordova PD Facebook page detailed the sequence events, lauding the efforts of the CSU in the resolution of the case.
The suspect is now facing charges for domestic violence and for being a felon in possession of a firearm. The Rancho Cordova PD highlighted the arrest as an "outstanding example of teamwork and investigation." Such instances of domestic threats are taken with extreme seriousness, and the department's quick action in this case likely prevented further escalation.
