An 18-year-old male has been charged with the murder of a 17-year-old in Taunton, Massachusetts. The suspect, identified as Kareem Gendraw from Randolph, was apprehended on Tuesday night in Medford. Charged with carrying an illegal firearm as well, his arraignment is scheduled for Wednesday in Taunton District Court, as reported by WCVB.

Medford's arrest took place after a 911 call late last Friday night, bringing police to a mobile home on Lothrop Street, where they found Khamitri Cole, the 17-year-old victim from Brockton. After suffering a gunshot wound, Cole was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Bristol County District Attorney's Office. During the same incident, having been shot also was an 18-year-old man from Holyoke, who managed to get himself to a hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

NBC Boston added that there was no immediate information on whether Gendraw had obtained legal representation, nor was there an update on the condition of the second victim. The shooting reportedly occurred during a late-night party, although details surrounding the circumstances of the incident remain under investigation by the Massachusetts State Police detectives, Taunton Police, and Homicide Unit prosecutors.

Brockton Public Schools mentioned that Cole had been a student until about a year ago, but was not currently enrolled at the time of his death.
