In a series of tragic events early Sunday morning, Sacramento was blighted by two fatal shootings within an hour, incidents believed to be linked to sideshows, illegal gatherings where cars perform stunts on public roads. Per the ABC10 report, the first shooting was reported around 2 a.m. on the 2400 block of Seamist Drive in South Natomas, where a man was found shot and consequently pronounced dead at the scene despite attempts to save his life.
The violence continued shortly before 3 a.m., Kelton Way and Main Avenue in North Sacramento became the next crime scene, where two men were transported to the hospital with gunshot wounds, and one man succumbed to his injuries while the other remains in stable condition. In a statement obtained by The Sacramento Bee, a police spokeswoman confirmed the deaths, marking the fourth and fifth shooting fatalities in Sacramento in just over a day.
Trina LaFuente, a Seamist Drive resident, described waking up to a sideshow that quickly escalated from 30 to 40 people to 300 to 500. No suspects have been arrested, and an investigation is ongoing. Police urge the public to avoid such gatherings, warning of legal consequences like impounded vehicles for participants and penalties for spectators
