Residents of San Antonio can expect a stretch of sunny skies and rising temperatures heading into the weekend. A report from the National Weather Service indicates that the city will see a high of 92 degrees today with gusts reaching up to 30 mph. The clear skies are set to continue through the evening, bringing a low of 65 degrees and winds calming to 10 to 15 mph, according to the latest weather forecasts.
The sunny conditions are part of a pattern, with tomorrow and Monday both expected to be sunny. The National Weather Service forecasts highs of 87 and 88 degrees, respectively. At night, the temperatures will dip into the low to mid-60s, providing some respite from the daytime heat. Winds over these days will remain steady, with gusts as high as 25 mph.
By Tuesday, however, changes are on the horizon. A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms emerges in the afternoon, bringing a 20 percent possibility of precipitation that lingers into the night. The rest of the week maintains this pattern with partly sunny skies interspersed with a 20 to 40 percent chance of rain and potential thunderstorms, particularly on Wednesday.
The possibility of precipitation carries through to the end of the week. The forecast suggests there is a consistent 20 percent chance of showers, and thunderstorms before 1 a.m. on Thursday, followed by daytime chances of rain on Friday as temperatures push back up to the low 90s. Despite the potential for wet weather, the overall outlook remains mostly sunny as the city navigates through a typically variable Texan September.
