
A residential high-rise in San Francisco experienced a one-alarm fire yesterday, with the San Francisco Fire Department responding to flames on the building's ninth floor at 55 Chumasero Dr. According to the San Francisco Fire Department, firefighters managed to extinguish the blaze and perform a thorough check for any fire extension, but the high-rise was evacuated as a precaution, establishing a shelter-in-place refuge on the 10th floor.

Residents of the 13-floor building were prompted to evacuate when the fire alarms sounded, and thanks to their quick action, no injuries or rescues were reported. Around 40 firefighters responded to the scene to manage the emergency, which was contained to the ninth floor.
Subsequent updates from SFFDPIO confirmed that the fire was caused by an accidental electrical issue. One adult was displaced as investigations continued.
