Early this morning, a Fort Bend ISD school bus carrying students was involved in a collision with a car in southwest Houston, with all those on board reportedly walking away unscathed. The incident occurred around 7:45 a.m. near the intersection of Fondren and Chasewind, where a dark colored sedan was seen heavily damaged against the bus's passenger side in footage captured by aerial news cameras. According to The Houston Chronicle, officials stated that the students and staff on the bus were unharmed and the vehicle could continue its journey to school campuses after the crash.
The Houston Police Department was made aware of the crash by a caller, who confirmed that students were on the bus at the time of the accident, the response to the scene involved a number of emergency vehicles and ambulances though injuries were not reported by KHOU 11, questions remain about the circumstances leading to the collision and whether any charges will be pressed. Emergency doors on both the front and back of the bus were opened, signaling an emergency protocol had been enacted even though none seemed to have sustained serious injuries.
