Yesterday, a north Houston neighborhood was disturbed by the sound of a collision when a stolen car crashed into the gate of a residence on Autumn Spring Drive. According to FOX 26 Houston, the incident, which has prompted a substantial law enforcement response, occurred following a hit-and-run event reported by Harris County Precinct 4 Constable Mark Herman.
The constables found the car abandoned and learned it had been reported stolen, complete with stolen license plates. The driver, who had already fled the scene by the time authorities arrived, was responsible for crashing into a residential gate. Described as a thin Black male in a black t-shirt and baggy blue jeans, he managed to elude the immediate dragnet.
Law enforcement scours the area for the suspect. Information provided by the constable's office on Facebook confirmed the search for the individual suspected of multiple violations, including auto theft, property damage, and leaving the scene of an accident.
Herman urges anyone with information on the suspect, who crashed the stolen car, to come forward and assist in the apprehension. No injuries have been reported, and the extent of the property damage to the home's gate is assessed.
