Seattle Police Department detectives are turning to the community in hopes of locating a good Samaritan who witnessed a horrific incident last July. In the wee hours, an individual saw a person being struck by a vehicle near a local brewery in North Seattle and gave chase, a bold effort to perhaps apprehend the driver or aid in future justice.
According to SPD Blotter, the episode unfolded near Elliot Bay Brewing Company at 12537 Lake City Way Northeast. It was just before 5 a.m. on July 22 when the Samaritan witnessed the vehicle run over an individual. Responding instinctively, this person dove into their vehicle and pursued the hit-and-run driver for a stretch before losing them.
Detectives are encouraging the individual who stepped up in such a critical moment to reach out and provide their account of the events and any details they might have about the suspect or the vehicle involved. Anyone with information is urged to come forward. Detectives understand the weight of what was witnessed and the aid the Samaritan could provide and have expressed that in a statement obtained by SPD Blotter.
Any individual with insights or information pertinent to this case is encouraged to reach out directly to the Seattle Police Department.
