A Shaler man is facing serious legal consequences after law enforcement officials discovered nearly 200 files of child pornography on his device. Andrew Britsch, 32, has been accused of possessing and potentially distributing illicit material following a tip-off to authorities, as reported by WPXI.

Details released by WPXI reveal that the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children received a CyberTip about a user named “creepjoe,” who uploaded two files suspected of child pornography on a social platform. The subsequent investigation led officers to Britsch's residence in Shaler, where a search warrant was executed, and Britsch's iPhone 13 was seized. It reportedly contained 61 videos and 117 images categorized as child pornography, and detectives confirmed five among these files bore evidentiary significance.

According to CBS News Pittsburgh, authorities noted Britsch's admission to viewing the content. The report also detailed that Britsch had been involved in "several instances of Britsch joining messaging groups that focus[ed] on trading child pornography."

Britsch, now charged with five counts of sexual abuse of children - possession of child pornography and one count of criminal use of a communication facility, was released from jail on his recognizance. Detectives noted that Britsch surrendered himself to the Allegheny County Sheriff's Office on Friday, and he awaits a preliminary hearing set for September 26.
