
On Monday night, an incident at Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport caused a stir when an off-airport parking shuttle bus erupted into flames on the upper level of the terminal roadway. According to WBAL-TV, around 7:15 p.m., the fire began, which prompted a response from the BWI-Marshall Airport Fire and Rescue Department. Their efforts to extinguish the fire were joined by support from mutual aid.
Officials confirmed that there were no passengers on the shuttle besides the driver at the time of the fire, and there were no reported injuries. Although the flames engulfed the bus on the terminal road, airline operations were not disrupted, ensuring that travelers were not inconvenienced by interruptions to their journeys.
Similarly, Fox Baltimore covered the incident, noting that the Anne Arundel County Fire Department assisted in dealing with the blaze. Alongside the efforts of the BWI Fire team, they ensured the fire was promptly managed, allowing for a swift return to normal traffic conditions.
