A tragic vehicle accident claimed the life of a man and left a woman in serious condition. CW39 reports that the accident occurred just after midnight in the 7100 block of South Loop East when a vehicle, for reasons yet unknown, spiraled out of control and careened off the roadway.
The Houston Police Department has stated that the eastbound vehicle turned turtle several times before coming to rest on the feeder road. This violent sequence of events led to the driver's death and injuries to its passenger. The emergency teams had to extricate both the driver and the passenger from the mangled remains of the car.
Firefighters from the Houston Fire Department rushed to the scene, working tirelessly to free the two occupants from the wreckage. In an official statement obtained by FOX26 Houston, the driver was pronounced deceased at the scene. The passenger, however, was transported to a local hospital and is believed to be in stable condition after having gone through the traumatic incident.
As of now, the Houston Police Department continues its investigation. Authorities have not released the identities of the individuals involved, as notifications to the families and loved ones are underway.
