St. Johns County opened a new Fire Station 11 and Sheriff's Office Operations Center on Saturday. The $10.5 million facility, located at 4435 Cypress Links Boulevard in Elkton, will provide important safety services. The opening ceremony featured a public tour, a firetruck push-in ceremony, and a flag dedication, as shown in a video recap by the County's Office of Public Affairs, as per the St. Johns County official website.

According to St. Johns County, during the event, Commissioner Sarah Arnold addressed the crowd, emphasizing the significance of the structure as a home for public safety personnel. "Let us remember that this building is about more than just bricks, more than just beams – it’s about family," Arnold expressed in a statement obtained by the St. Johns County Office of Public Affairs. 

The speaker lineup for the grand opening included prominent figures such as the chair of the St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners Sarah Arnold, St. Johns County Sheriff Robert Hardwick, Fire Chief Sean McGee, and Jeremy Robshaw, Chief of Administrative Services for Fire Rescue. Together, these community leaders affirmed the dedication of the county's officials to providing top-grade facilities for public safety operations.

Behind the design and construction of the new facility was a collaborative effort led by Architects Design Group (ADG), with DiMare Construction at the helm of construction efforts. The project also saw assistance from Matthews DCCM, IMEG, TLC Engineering Solutions, and Castle Bay Studios as subcontractors, all contributing their expertise to ensure the quality and durability of the fire station and operations center.
