St. Michael residents, take note that your nighttime silence might be intermittently broken this week thanks to some essential construction work. The Wright County Highway Department has announced that CSAH 35 will undergo concrete paving of the eastbound lanes, the process invoking the rare necessity of nocturnal labor. "The construction operations will require periodic night work to saw joints in the concrete pavement through the end of the week," as stated by Wright County Minnesota.
This isn't regular construction clamor to simply keep to rigid schedules. The contractor is working within a precise time frame to adequately saw joints into the newly laid concrete. This task, described to be somewhat of an art form, is dictated by variables such as temperature and moisture. The goal is to quickly but not too hastily cut into the concrete to make sure it cracks precisely at the reinforced points. The department explains that if they fail to timely cut these joints, the "concrete is more apt to fail prematurely." To ensure the integrity of the roadwork, the contractor will also be making test beams and breaking them at specific intervals to determine the optimal sawing time.
The nocturnal operations are set to begin Wednesday night, September 4, and are planned to carry through to the end of this week, as detailed by Wright County Minnesota. While the burst of night activity might be an inconvenience, the department calls for patience, highlighting the significance of this particular transportation project's construction. The whole project is slated for completion around the end of October, presumably bringing this phase of relentless progress to a close.
The Wright County Highway Department has expressed thanks to the community for its understanding during this crucial improvement effort.
