For those with a penchant for unearthing the past beneath their feet, Cedar Lake Farm Regional Park is hosting a "Hidden History Hike" on Sunday, September 29th. As reported by Scott County's announcement, this event is a two-hour trek from 1 PM to 3 PM dedicated to discovering the layers of human touch that have shaped the park over centuries.
Hikers will meander through a variety of terrains, covering roughly two miles of both paved and unpaved paths. And, in walking through Cedar Lake Farm's expanse, you’ll not only get your steps in but also dig into a treasure trove of local lore—everything from old farmsteads to the imprints of a lakeside resort. Expected, participants must reserve their spot by two days before the event, and those timely deciders are being asked to pony up $6 for the privilege. For any savvy outdoorsy history buffs, snagging a 20 percent discount for a group of four is just mathematically sound.
Scott County makes it clear that the "program is open to all ages" with the caveat that "children 11 years and younger must be accompanied by an adult." Given the finite number of slots, those interested should dial 763-559-6700 for reservations.
