On Monday morning, a school bus from Random Lake School District crashed near County Highway E and Jay Road in Ozaukee County, injuring several students. Sheboygan Night Scanner provided TMJ4 with images showing the severity of the accident.
Details shared on the district's Facebook page and reported by news outlets reveal that Bus 17 was involved in the collision, resulting in several students being injured. The extent of the injuries is not yet clear, but medical personnel were on the scene. The district confirmed that affected families have been notified and that unaffected students are being picked up by their parents, FOX 6 reported.
Exclusively visual assessments by Newschopper 12 showed that the school bus had flipped onto its side in a ditch, which demonstrated the potential for significant harm to those involved. Taking into account the visual evidence of the bus's distressing position, and according to the footage disseminated by WISN, the collision also implicated at least one other vehicle. The precise dynamics of the crash, however, remain under investigation.
In response to the crash, the Random Lake School District has acted swiftly to support affected families and the community. District leaders quickly contacted families and ensured the safe pickup of students, following established protocols. More details about the injured students and the cause of the crash are expected.
