After a three-year investigation, the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office made arrests in a 2021 homicide case. On June 21, 2021, deputies responded to a shooting at an apartment complex on Oakhollow Drive, where they found a male victim, Wayne Blanchard, deceased from a gunshot wound, and his girlfriend injured but alive. A witness reported seeing two males flee the scene in a light-colored sedan.
According to the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office release posted on Facebook, through investigative work, detectives identified suspects connected to the violence. Sunnerica Sinohui, her brother David Sinohui, and her boyfriend Dominique Brown were implicated in the planning and execution of Blanchard's murder and the attempted murder of his girlfriend. Brown has since died in an unrelated incident in Washington, leaving the Sinohui siblings to face charges. On September 20, with cooperation from the Riverside Sheriff's Office Homicide Bureau, David Sinohui was arrested in Victorville and transported to the Riverside County Jail, awaiting extradition to Sacramento County.
On the same day as her brother's arrest, Sunnerica Sinohui was taken into custody by detectives from the Sacramento County Sheriff's Major Crimes Bureau and the Sheriff’s Gang Suppression Unit. She was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail without the possibility of bail. Scheduled for a court appearance today, the legal process is moving forward to address the actions that led to that tragic day in 2021.
