Authorities are on the lookout for two suspects following an aggravated robbery in Harris County, stemming from what started as a Facebook Marketplace transaction. The incident occurred in the 19600 block of Hardwood Ridge Trail on Sunday, where a seller intending to trade an Apple iPhone was met with a threat of violence, according to a Facebook post by Constable Mark Herman's Office.
The complainant had arranged to sell the phone via the social media platform but decided to cancel the sale upon sensing suspicious behavior from the prospective buyer. It was at this juncture that the situation escalated—another individual in the vehicle reportedly brandished an assault rifle, menacing the seller into compliance. The identities of the suspects were later confirmed to be Dajon Thompson and Leslie Barnes, the latter having a record as a convicted felon. A photographic lineup aided in their confirmation, solidifying the link between them and the crime.
"Leslie Barnes and Dajon Thompson are currently wanted by law enforcement for Aggravated Robbery. Their bond has not been set at this time out of the 174th and 230th District Court. If you have information regarding their whereabouts, you are urged to contact our dispatch or your local law enforcement," detailed Constable Mark Herman in a Facebook post.
