Tampa Police Department has concluded a significant investigation that resulted in the arrests of two individuals for drug trafficking and the seizure of firearms in Sulphur Springs. Antonio Lagreera, identified as a main supplier in the area, was one of those arrested during a raid on an apartment thought to have been central to the operation.
Information gathered over the past year allowed investigators to thoroughly piece together evidence and conduct undercover operations. Eventually, this led to the issuance of a search warrant at an apartment located on N. 13th Street. There, Lagreera was taken into custody alongside Kendric Daniels, 26, who was also found at the residence. It was during this search on September 4, that officers uncovered a considerable cache of drugs and weapons.
The findings of the search were substantial with eight guns and various types of ammunition being confiscated. The Tampa Police Department reported the narcotics haul included 224 grams of fentanyl, 221.1 grams of methamphetamine, and over 700 grams of cocaine. Additionally, authorities seized $15,946.00 intended for forfeiture.
"The tenacity and dedicated efforts of all those involved in this investigation has ensured that Sulphur Springs and the Nebraska Avenue corridor is safer for our community and visitors alike," Chief Lee Bercaw stated. The chief further expressed the department's zero-tolerance policy towards illegal narcotics activity and the commitment to hold those responsible to the fullest extent of the law. These efforts represent a significant milestone in the ongoing battle to curb drug distribution in the Tampa area.
