Four Tampa residents have been indicted on federal charges related to a cocaine distribution network. Eber Alexander Lopez, Eduardo Ponce Tondee, Jaime Ayala Rivera, and John Hernandez Martin are accused of conspiring to distribute over 5 kilograms of cocaine. If convicted, they face at least 10 years to life in federal prison. The indictment claims the network operated from December 2023 to August 2024 and used U.S. mail to ship drugs from Puerto Rico to Florida, as reported by the US Attorneys Middle District of Florida.

The FBI uncovered a conspiracy where cocaine was shipped to the Middle District of Florida for distribution, focusing on the Tampa Bay area. During the investigation, agents seized over 8 kilograms of cocaine and about $87,000 in drug money. An indictment is just a formal accusation and not an admission of guilt.

The FBI led the investigation, with help from the U.S. Postal Inspection Service and Tampa Police. Assistant U.S. Attorney Diego F. Novaes will handle the prosecution and must prove the charges in court.

The impact of the alleged drug operation is evident, but the accused's outcome is unknown until the court proceedings. The justice system will evaluate the evidence, and the accused are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
