The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) has announced the addition of Saturday appointments at selected driver's license offices throughout Texas. This limited-time initiative will extend until the end of September, addressing the demand from residents with weekday time constraints.
According to a Houston Chronicle report, those participating offices will offer these extra half-day slots specifically for services such as driver license or identification card renewals and replacements. Texans who have recently moved to the state may also find appointments for their new licenses or ID card services, dependent on the location. The Saturday services will only be available by prior appointment.
Appointments can be made for the upcoming Saturdays on September 21 and 28. This outreach is part of Texas DPS's effort to accommodate an expanding need of Texans striving to obtain or renew their official state credentials within the rigid schedules of daily life. Those interested in securing a weekend slot are directed to book it through the DPS website.
Further details on these extended service hours, including what documents customers should bring to their appointments, have been disclosed. In a news release mentioned by the FOX 26 Houston article, DPS officials provided the necessary information for residents to thoroughly prepare for their appointments and avoid further delays in the service process.
