Tragedy struck yesterday when a 56-year-old Texas man was fatally injured in a car accident near Superior Township, Michigan. According to ClickOnDetroit, the victim was attempting to exit westbound M-14 at Ford Road when his vehicle veered off the road into a ditch and collided with multiple trees. Michigan State Police discovered the man deceased in the passenger seat shortly after 4:30 a.m.
The man, reported by FOX 2 Detroit to be from Austin, was said to have been returning to his home state after visiting family in Michigan. The authorities quickly arrived on the scene to find the man pinned within his vehicle, ultimately declaring him dead where he lay. Forensic analysis is still pending, but at this point, investigators do not seem to believe that drugs or alcohol were contributing factors to the unfortunate incident.
The Michigan State Police from the Brighton Post, who are handling the ongoing investigation, offered details in a statement, saying "The driver failed to negotiate the ramp and left the roadway entered the ditch where the vehicle struck several trees." This information, relayed in a post on their official channel.
