
In a coordinated response to a burglary reported in Rancho Cucamonga, deputies successfully tracked down and detained three suspects who attempted to flee the scene aboard an Omnitrans bus. The incident, taking place on the 8900 block of Foothill Boulevard, was initially brought to authorities' attention around 8:42 p.m. on September 13, as reported by the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner Department.
Upon the arrival of law enforcement, the suspects had absconded the scene, prompting an investigation that led to the interception of the bus where the individuals were found. According to the same report, Mykell Lashawn Hawkins, 19, was identified among the suspects and was subsequently booked at the West Valley Detention Center facing multiple charges, including grand theft. The other two detained parties, both minors, were cited for burglary and handed over to their parents.
The stolen items, valued at an estimated total of $2,844.42, were recovered and returned to the CVS store from which they were taken.
