
South Memphis became the site of violence yesterday afternoon as a shooting on South Lauderdale Street left three individuals wounded. Action News 5 reported that the Memphis Police Department received a call regarding the incident at approximately 1:10 p.m. and promptly dispatched officers to the area near Humber Street. Upon arrival, law enforcement found that the altercation had resulted in injuries to three individuals, two directly from gunfire.
While trying to escape the chaos, the third victim was injured, highlighting the fear and desperation of the situation. FOX13 Memphis added context, noting that one person was found at the original crime scene, while two other victims sought help at a nearby fire station at 2034 Lauderdale.
All three of the wounded were subsequently transported to the hospital with non-critical injuries, as per the authorities' confirmation. As the investigation progressed, a secondary crime scene was uncovered at 888 Kerr Avenue, which investigators believe may have connections to the shootings.
