
A 61-year-old man identified as Robert Puffer, described by authorities as a transient of Big Bear Lake, has been detained in connection to a robbery and assault incident that occurred on Wednesday afternoon. As detailed by the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner Department, deputies were approached by an injured woman on Big Bear Boulevard and Starvation Flats, who reported that Puffer had assaulted and robbed her.
The victim, whose identity remains protected, was found bleeding from her face around 3:09 p.m., according to the official press release. After describing her assailant, she was promptly transported to a nearby hospital to address her injuries. Information from the Sheriff's Department indicates that the law enforcement’s Mobile Field Force Unit located Puffer in a field close to the scene of the crime soon after the assault was reported.
Arrested on charges of robbery, Puffer is currently being held at the Big Bear Jail on a $50,000 bail.
