Two individuals were arrested this past Saturday in connection to a shooting that occurred in Orange County back in June, reportedly leading to the death of a 19-year-old man and injuring a woman. According to ClickOrlando, the incident happened on June 18 around 2 AM near the Pershing Avenue and Goldenrod Road intersection.
The deceased was identified as Angel Issak Martinez, who, along with a woman in her 20s, was found shot and subsequently transported to the hospital, where Martinez succumbed to his injuries. The woman, whose injuries were not life-threatening, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Office, survived the ordeal. Amarion Rashaun Hammons, 21, and Jabez Actie, 22, now face charges of first-degree murder with a firearm, attempted first-degree murder with a gun, and shooting into an occupied vehicle.
In addition to these charges, both men have been accused of trafficking in fentanyl, as noted in a news release highlighted by ClickOrlando. Further details about the case or the individuals involved have not been disclosed.
WFTV reported that the arrests were made based on arrest warrants for Hammons and Actie, with both suspects appearing before a judge on Saturday. They were denied bond for the charges related to the fentanyl or murder and, according to court records, are being represented by public defenders. Investigators are still attempting to uncover the motive behind the heinous shooting.
