
In Harris County, the community has been alerted to two recent incidents involving young children being struck by vehicles on the same block. The first, a three-year-old child, was hit on Carey Place just after 4:45 p.m. yesterday according to FOX 26 Houston. Responders rushed the victim to the hospital with injuries deemed non-life-threatening, and even as the driver claimed to have not seen the child, officials have launched an investigation into the accident.
Following closely on its heels, another accident on the same block of Carey Place involved a two-year-old child on the same day, around 5 p.m. as reported by CW 39 Houston which resulted in Emergency Medical Services and Fire Department teams providing immediate care, with the driver involved remaining at the scene, and the accident is currently under the scrutiny of an ongoing investigation. Harris County Constable Mark Herman voiced his concern for both the victims and the community urging support, stating, "asking for prayers for all those involved in this heartbreaking situation."
