Tragedy struck early Saturday morning in northeast Houston, where a block party on Laura Koppe Road at Lockwood Drive became the scene of a deadly drive-by shooting. According to KHOU, two men were killed, and at least nine others were wounded during the incident. The men who lost their lives were both in their 20s and they were shot multiple times.
Police have started to actively investigate the violent encounter, and they are looking for a white pickup truck that was seen driving west on Laura Koppe toward I-59. This same vehicle is believed to have been involved in the shooting. Eyewitness accounts provided to the authorities suggest that the occupants were responsible to have indiscriminately opened fire into the crowd celebrating at the block party.
Further to the official reports, Houston Police Department's post on X disclosed that the shooting occurred around 2:25 a.m. and advised individuals to avoid the area as they addressed the aftermath and initiated the collection of evidence. Investigators at the scene have found two types of shell casings, indicating that more than one weapon may have been fired during the shooting.
