A tragic accident in Seminole left two dead and one hospitalized late Tuesday evening. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, as reported by WFLA, a 24-year-old St. Pete woman was driving a Subaru Impreza westbound on 46th Avenue North before halting at a stop sign at Park Street North around 10:47 p.m.
The simultaneous occurrence saw a 49-year-old man from Mary Esther, traveling northbound on Park Street North on his Harley Davidson motorcycle, collide with the Subaru after the woman driver entered the intersection, failing to yield. The impact proved fatal for both the woman and the motorcycle rider. A third individual, a 23-year-old St. Pete man, who had been a passenger in the Subaru, has suffered serious injuries.
Details of the crash were corroborated by other sources, with WTSP noting that troopers said the St. Pete woman failed to yield to the motorcyclist before entering his path, causing the fatal collision. The passenger transported to the hospital is currently receiving treatment for injuries sustained during the accident.
Further reporting by ABC Action News confirmed both drivers, the St. Pete woman and the Mary Esther man, died at the scene of the crash.
The names of the deceased have not been immediately released as authorities continue their investigations into the accident.
