Nottingham became the scene of a high-stakes chase last evening as Baltimore County Police apprehended two individuals following a dramatic vehicle bailout. The events unfolded around 8:10 p.m. when a stolen vehicle refused to pull over for Maryland State Police, according to a report by Baltimore County's official news release.
The situation escalated rapidly as the car, later located by local officers, was abandoned by its occupants, who fled on foot. A foot pursuit was launched, during which one of the suspects discharged a firearm, prompting a temporary shelter-in-place order for nearby residents. How many suspects were involved is unclear, but two have been taken into custody. The police have not released their identities or the specific charges they face, and the shelter-in-place has been lifted.
The Baltimore County Police Department is continuing to investigate the circumstances of the incident. So far, no injuries have been reported as a result of either the car chase or the gunfire. The Baltimore County officials have indicated that further information will be released as it becomes available.
