
Tragedy struck a Memphis neighborhood on Monday night when two girls, ages 4 and 13, were injured in a shooting at the Stone Ridge at Germantown Falls apartments. FOX13 Memphis reports the Memphis Police Department (MPD) arrived at the scene around 9:45 p.m. after receiving a distress call from the 6800 block of Club Lane, where gunfire had pierced the evening, a mother found her daughters—one wounded by a stray bullet and the other struck on her finger.
As detailed by WREG, the mother recounted hearing screams from her daughters' room, with one child being shot in the jaw and the other suffering an injury to her finger. With one of the children in critical condition, the MPD urged anyone with information to approach CrimeStoppers, where the vacant night swallowed the black Infiniti seen speeding from the chaotic scene.
The victims were hastily conveyed to Le Bonheur Children's Hospital, to which Action News 5 adds that one girl remains in critical condition while the other is expected to recover from non-critical injuries. As the investigation remains active. The shooter, still at large, is alleged to have departed in a black Infiniti SUV, which was seen leaving the area furtively at the time of the incident.
