Starting September 16 and running through September 20, a portion of Wa‘apa Road in Līhu‘e will be partially closed for resurfacing work. The closure, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily, will affect the area between Niumalu Bridge and the entrance to Young Brothers Hawai‘i, according to a press release from the County of Kaua‘i.
Motorists should expect potential delays and occasional full closures in the work zone, though access to driveways and local residents will be maintained. Parking in the construction area will not be allowed, so plan to park elsewhere. Flaggers will be on-site to help direct traffic.
This closure is a clear signpost that growth involves inconvenience. For your upcoming travel plans, the county is urging motorists to seek alternate routes around the construction site to avoid delays. Allowing extra travel time is also advisable during this period to ensure you reach your destinations without the rush.
