The City's contractor is embarking on intersection improvements at Lockwood Boulevard and Mitchell Hammock Road, which aim to ease future traffic flow. According to the City of Oviedo, the construction will kick off on October 7 and be completed by December 3.
The planned upgrades include adding a second left turn lane on the northbound section of Lockwood Boulevard and installing a stronger signal pole in the Northeast quadrant of the intersection. However, this work will cause some temporary disruptions. As a result, there will be intermittent lane closures on both the northbound and southbound sides of Lockwood Boulevard from 9 AM to 4 PM. Motorists should be ready for detours and stay alert for construction crews during these hours.
Residents and commuters can visit the City of Oviedo website for the most up-to-date information and guidance. As December approaches, everyone looks forward to the fruits of this brief period of urban transformation.
