
The Metropolitan Police Department is urgently seeking the public's help in locating a woman believed to be a victim of an abduction that took place yesterday afternoon in Southeast D.C. According to the MPD's recent request for assistance, a male suspect allegedly forced the woman into a vehicle on the 400 block of Brandywine Street, SE, following an altercation. The incident is described as having a domestic context.
The reported kidnapping occurred around 3:58 p.m. and involved a 21-year-old female named Amonie Anderson. Anderson, whose photograph was circulated by the police, is described as being approximately 5 feet 3 inches tall and weighing around 170 pounds, with a light complexion. She was last seen wearing a light color tank top, sweatpants, and a black bonnet with writing on her head. The suspect’s vehicle is a white Infiniti Q54 sedan, last spotted with the West Virginia license plate number 34D631.
Authorities are cautioning the public to refrain from approaching the suspect or vehicle and to contact law enforcement with any information instead immediately. The Metropolitan Police Department's official release states, "Anyone who knows the whereabouts of this vehicle or who has knowledge of this incident should take no action but call police at (202) 727-9099." The department urges tipsters to reach out via phone or to send a message to their TEXT TIP LINE at 50411.
The MPD is also providing a financial incentive for information that assists in resolving this case, offering a reward of up to $1,000. The reward goes to anyone who can provide details leading to the arrest and indictment of the responsible individual or individuals.
