Last Friday, tragedy struck at the intersection of Tennessee Street and Mare Island Way in Vallejo. According to the Vallejo Police Department (VPD), officers responded to reports of gunshots and a related vehicle collision at around 12:27 AM to find a grim scene: a 2005 white Honda Accord, heavily damaged, and its driver, an adult female, suffering from a gunshot wound.
Following the incident, the Vallejo Fire Department carried out an emergency extrication due to the vehicle's serious damage. Despite the Vallejo Fire Department's quick response in extricating the victim from the wreckage, the injury she sustained from the gunshot proved fatal. She was pronounced deceased at the scene. This investigation, now in the hands of VPD's Homicide Detectives, seeks to uncover the motive behind the shooting, with the circumstances remaining unclear at present.
The victim's identity is closely held, with next of kin yet to be notified, as reported by the Solano County Coroner's Office. Authorities are seeking the public's assistance in an ongoing investigation. Anyone with information related to the case is urged to contact Detective Bradley Phillips at (707) 805-1359 or via email at [email protected].
