A recent traffic accident in Vallejo has resulted in the city's sixth traffic fatality of the year. Last Saturday evening, Vallejo Police Officers responded to a crash involving a single vehicle on Avian Drive. The Vallejo Police Department (VPD) confirmed that a 2017 white Kia Forte hit a curb before colliding with a raised planter box and catching fire.
Upon their arrival at approximately 8:46 P.M., officers found the adult male driver, who was the only person in the car, critically injured. He was quickly transported to a nearby hospital. Despite the attempts to aggressively save his life, the driver succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. The driver's identity is withheld, pending the notification of next of kin by the Solano County Sheriff's Coroner's Office.
According to the Vallejo Police Department, the VPD's Traffic Division thoroughly investigates the cause and contributing factors to the collision.
