On Wednesday, the Vallejo Police Department responded to a call about a burglary in progress at a home on the 100 block of W. Baxter Street. A keen-eyed neighbor reported to authorities that an individual was seen forcing entry through the front window of a nearby residence.
According to the Vallejo Police Department, police arrived quickly to find signs of forced entry, including a damaged window. The homeowner, who was at the scene, confirmed that nobody was given permission to enter the premises. In an attempt to apprehend the suspect, the police surrounded the area and issued over 30 commands for submission, to which the suspect inside did not yield.
The stalemate ended when K9 Leroy, a member of the Vallejo Police Department’s canine team, was deployed to assist. Leroy led the officers inside the home and found the suspect hiding in a bedroom closet under a pile of clothing.
The suspect, an adult female whose name was not immediately released, was apprehended without further incident. After being medically cleared, the suspect, who also had an outstanding warrant for failure to appear from Antioch, CA, was booked into Solano County Jail.
