The Vallejo Police Department Patrol Division responded on Monday night to a distress call from the 300 block of Avian Drive, where they found a woman grievously wounded by at least one gunshot. Despite the swift provision of medical aid and the prompt arrival of paramedics, the woman succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
According to the Vallejo Police Department, investigators gathered evidence quickly and pointed to 28-year-old resident Anthony Quinn Huff Jr. as the main suspect. Vallejo Police Department's Homicide Detectives have since taken over the investigation and secured an arrest warrant for Huff Jr. on a murder charge. He later turned himself into the police the following day and was booked into the Solano County Jail without further incident.
The death of the unidentified woman marks the 18th homicide in Vallejo this year. The Vallejo Police Department, in a bid to further their efforts, has reached out to the public for any additional leads.
