A Wake County man, identified as 22-year-old Christian Alan DeLabio-Hill, is currently held without bond after being charged with multiple severe sex offenses, including the statutory rape and kidnapping of a 3-year-old girl in 2018, the Wake County Sheriff’s Office reported in statements published by CBS 17 and ABC 11.
DeLabio-Hill was apprehended with the assistance of the Federal Bureau of Investigation where the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children initially identified the young girl in images spread online, as noted by the authorities, and the subsequent investigation culminated in the disturbing findings tied to the suspect's activities dating back when he was just 15 years old.
Charges pressed against DeLabio-Hill include one count of first-degree statutory rape, ten counts of first-degree sexual exploitation of a minor, three counts of first-degree statutory sexual offense, and one count of kidnapping, these charges in additions to five counts of taking indecent liberties with children, according to WRAL News.
"On or about the date of offense shown and in the country named above the defendant unlawfully, willfully and feloniously did engage in a sex offense with Minor Victim, a child under the age of 13," detailed the arrest warrant obtained by WRAL News, capturing the severity of the crime charge levied against DeLabio-Hill, who now faces the judicial system with a court appearance expected to unfold on Wednesday.
The relationship, if any, between DeLabio-Hill and the victim remains unclear, details from the investigation continue to emerge as this case brings to the fore the haunting realities, and the intersection of technology and crime fields a threatening scourge to the innocent among us.
